Magic Chalice

A flash fiction for the New Year! Start 2024 by joining my Patreon and buying my poetry book. Doing so will support me as a writer.

The chilled bronze chalice kisses your lips. Slowly sip the frothy liquid, and the foam sits atop your upper lip. As the fizz slides over your tongue, none of the bubbles pop. The sweet spice of the drink causes tingles across your tastebuds. As you swallow the bubbles, they pop inside your throat. The sensation reminds you of Pop Rocks combusting down into your stomach. Every last bubble within the bronzed chalice becomes consumed. You placed the cup back on the table as the final popped bubble entered your gut. As a tickling sensation rises from your tummy, you giggle. END.
