"I Was a Mother of Three!" is a solid afternoon read. The cozy mystery is standard for the genre. The story's chapter titles and the names of places are inspired by B-movie horror titles. Outside of the fun naming device, the killer isn't bland. He's an obsessive ex-lover. Janis is a likable protagonist and doesn't take herself too seriously. She's a single 40-year-old with an active sex life which is a bonus. Overall, the story is engaging, the killer is scary, and the protagonist is fun. I give this paperback 3/5 stars and recommend reading it during a lazy day. END.
